Vivendi SE is a French mass-media holding company headquartered in Paris. It owns Groupe Canal+, Havas, Gameloft, Prisma Media, Vivendi Village, and Dailymotion, and is a majority owner of the Lagardère Group. The company has activities in television, film, video games, book publishing, print press, communication, tickets, and video hosting services. In 2000 Vivendi Universal was created from the merger with Groupe Canal+ and Seagram Company Ltd. In 2006 it sold off most of the Universal components and its name reverted to Vivendi. As of 2021, Vivendi's chairman Yannick Bolloré is also CEO of Havas, which was spun off from Vivendi in 2000 but has since become a subsidiary.
